Miles Library Miles Library

Miles Library is one of nine libraries within the Western Downs Regional Library Service.

Western Downs Libraries is a contemporary and vital library service that comprises nine branches which were formed after the amalgamation of Dalby, Wambo, Chinchilla, Tara, Murilla and part of Taroom Shire Councils.   We combined one Independent Library Service of three branches with six Country Lending Service Libraries.  Over time we have blended into One Library Service - with nine service delivery points, our customers now have access to an online catalogue with many enhanced features and a support network to ensure an outstanding level of service and a wide range of quality resources

All branches have moved from stand-alone libraries into an integrated, fully independent library service and residents are encouraged to make the most of this valuable community facility. Library services have been enhanced to reflect the needs of the community.

Enhancements to library services include:

  • inter-library lending now available,
  • customers can place purchase requests for items to enhance our collections within our library service
  • access to over 70, 000 free resources for borrowers,
  • extensive catalogue of reference websites which are linked to the Queensland school curriculum, and
  • wide collection of bestsellers, music CDs, popular DVDs, audio books and magazines.
