Location: The Murilla district, incorporating the four towns of Miles, Drillham, Dulacca and Condamine, is located on the Western Darling Downs in Queensland. The district spans 6045 square kilometers and sits on the intersection of the Warrego and Leichhardt Highways.

Population: 2700 people live in the district of Murilla with approximately 1400 of these living in the principle town of Miles.

Industry: Murilla district is an important grazing and timber production industry. Livestock production includes sheep and both grain and grass fed beef while the agricultural industry is based on wheat, sorghum, barley and cotton crops. Feedlots are an emerging industry which is fast becoming an important economic base for the district. Mining is an important industry for the Murilla district with rich deposits of Bentonite clay mined in the area. Coal is also mined and gas exploration within the district is increasing.
