Having the privilege of being rewarded a Traineeship with Western Downs Regional Council has been a great experience to have during my gap year. Over the last 12 months I have successfully completed my certificate III in Business and Tourism components. I have had the opportunity to learn new skills under the guidance and influence of great people in a fun, enthusiastic and supportive working environment. Throughout the year I have been able to assist with the preparation of the Miles Beef, Bells and Bottle Tree festival, meet lots of new people travelling through the region and also assist with the flooding, where I was able to see first hand what a great community I was living and working in. I would like to thank all the staff at the Miles Customer Service Centre for making my time with Western Downs Regional Council pleasant and enjoyable. My best wishes to all.
