Filling of Swimming Pools
Residents are able to request access to a Council hydrant to fill a swimming pool.
Pools can not be filled on weekends, on a Monday or under Level 5 or 6 water restrictions.

All new swimming pools will require a site inspection prior to the filling of the pool.
Residential garden hoses must only be used to fill swimming pools inside Council nominated watering times on allocated days and must not be used at all under level 5 or 6 watering restrictions.
A minimum of two working days notice, upon receiving an application, is required for the filling of pools.
The water accessed from the hydrant to fill a swimming pool is charged at $6.00 per kilolitres plus a base charge of $57.00.
Please Note: The taking of water from a hydrant without permission from the water service provider is in breach of the Water Supply Act 2008 and as such any parties found taking water without the use of a Council authorised standpipe and without Council permission will be liable to a fine.

Building & Commercial Uses
To request access to water from a hydrant for any other use, please complete an Application to Access Water from a Hydrant and submit it to Western Downs Regional Council, Engineering Department, 26 Wood Street, Dalby.
Please Note: The taking of water from a hydrant without permission from the water service provider is in breach of the Water Supply Act 2008 and as such any parties found taking water without the use of a Council authorised standpipe and without Council permission will be liable to a fine.
