Service Connection & Disconnections

To enquire about a sewer connection or disconnection, please contact Council's Engineering Department.

Alternatively please download and complete a Request for Sewer Connection / Disconnection and submit to Council. Applications can be posted to Western Downs Regional Council, Engineering Department, PO Box 551, Dalby Qld 4405.

New connections to the sewer network may require a site inspection. Applicants will be provided with a quote for connection charges.  The minimum charge for a new connection is $915.00.

The charge for Council to undertake a standard disconnection service is $236.00. There is a $68.00 fee for a disconnection where a qualified plumber has been contracted and Council inspects the site upon job completion.

Liquid Waste Disposal

Liquid waste disposal into a Council sewer system is subject to a written application and prior agreement only.

Liquid waste may be able to be disposed of in Chinchilla, Tara, Miles and Wandoan Sewerage Treatment Plants only.

Waste can not be disposed of at the Dalby or Meandarra Treatment Plant.

The fee to dispose of approved waste is $50.00 per kilolitre.

Blocked Drains

If you are having problems with a blocked house drain, you can contact Council or a private plumber to investigate the matter.

If Council is contacted and upon inspection a blockage is found to be in a resident's pipe and not in the sewer main or jump up, the resident is responsible for payment of a fee for unblocking the drain.

The charge for clearing a blocked house during regular Council work hours is $302.00. Outside this time which includes weekends and after hours the fee is $455.00.

Council will unblock the drain and advise the resident of the problem or cause if known. Council is not responsible for the repair of any cracked or broken house pipes which may be discovered.

For more information on Council's wastewater services please contact Council's Engineering Department.
