With her work currently on display in the John Mullins Memorial Art Gallery, exhibiting artist, Fiona Rafferty, presents her FREE workshop, ‘The Poetry of Drawing’. Fiona encourages nothing but fun in all of her workshops as they are suitable for both beginners and advanced artists.

Participants will:

  • Be asked to select a poem referenced in the Reminiscence Exhibition in the 2D works of Fiona Rafferty and 3D works of Frances Smith
  • Be given time to explore Wright’s poetry as key discussion points are presented
  • Enhance their drawing skills through exploring ideas, inspired by the Wright poem, that is relevant to their work


  • A favourite poem by any Australian poet
  • A5/A4/A3 unlined sketchbook
  • Drawing 0.2 Staedtler pen
  • 2B Pencil
  • Eraser & sharpener

Explore a variety of fabric colouring and design techniques, including salting, microwaving, a range of twisting and tying- some traditional and some unique techniques, using Genesis Creations ‘Liquid Radiance’, an acrylic paint based product.  Fabrics created can be used for quilting, dressmaking and other fabric craft projects.
